SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST FREE FILM AND TV CLASSES
SFCC, which has been training local film crews for more than 20 years, has started accepting applications for their Production Assistant Training for Film and Television class, which is free to New Mexico residents and set to take place in January.
The training will provide students with the opportunity to learn on-set safety and film basics from film industry professionals. It will also give students the chance to earn their “OSHA 10” safety certification and learn how to apply for paid internships managed by the Stagecoach Foundation Inc., which is in partnership with SFCC Continuing Education and Workforce Department in bringing the film program to the campus.
The program will run on Saturdays and Sundays from Jan. 4-19 at the SFCC campus at 6401 Richards Ave. As class sizes are limited, SFCC asks that applicants submit their application as soon as possible.
Applicants are asked to visit protecsan tafe.com for more information.
“If you are interested in a career in the film and television industry, this is the best place to begin,” SFCC Film Department Chair Milton C. Riess said.
