Adobe Gallery

Specialists in Native American pottery, Adobe Gallery offers two exhibitions in August. Pueblo Historic Ollas, Dough Bowls, and Storage Jars (through Sept. 9) highlights vessels made between 1880 and 1920. Though utilitarian, the vessels are no less beautiful. Many bear marks of use over the century and more since their creation. Storytellers and Figurative Works from Cochiti Pueblo (Aug. 17 to Sept. 16) centers on the pueblo's rich oral history tradition and its widely collected pottery figurines. The exhibition spotlights the works of Helen Cordero, who began creating storytellers in 1964, and her contemporaries.
