NATIVE ART MARKETS
August is the month to celebrate Native art — and this year's slate of Indigenous art markets is especially noteworthy, as 2022 marks the centennial celebration of Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) Santa Fe Indian Market. The world's largest and bestknown Native art event, the market features pottery, sculpture, drums, hides, jewelry, baskets, paintings and more. Newer Native art markets include IAIA's Student and Recent Graduate Art Market, Pathways Native Arts Festival, the Wheelwright Artists Market and the Free Indian Market. All markets take place the third weekend in August.
