THE PAST 100 YEARS

From The Santa Fe New Mexican:

May 20, 1922: Fine, Lovely, Beautiful, Charming, Santa Fe Spring Weather — Very Favorable for Church-going.

May 20, 1947: I have not noticed editorials in your paper concerning the closing of the U.S. Indian schools at Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and therefore I don’t know what your opinions are concerning this subject. After reading what I think of this outrage, you should decide that you would like to print it and think it might help to prevent the end or a delayment of education for the Indians, I and many other friends of the Indians would appreciate it if you would put it into print.

May 20, 1997: A state judge who earlier this month ruled invalid the ordinance that limits development on the mountains east of the city said Monday that he’ll decide by the end of the week whether to allow the city and count governments to keep the ordinance in effect for a few months while they consider it.
