Shukurillo Kamalov

Booth 77 Shukurillo Kamalov is a sixthgeneration blacksmith and knife maker from Bukhara. He recalls watching his father forging in the family workshop after school and being allowed to hold the finished pieces. Now he and his father forge Damascus blades, created by folding different types of steel together and then etching the metal with acid to reveal complex patterns.
