Booth 13 The Uzbek saying “Carpets warm our heart and please our eyes” illustrates the importance of carpet weaving for artisans like Anvar Kurbanov. For the seminomadic tribes of Uzbekistan, carpets are key pieces of furniture — as functional as they are decorative. Kurbanov uses patterns of the famous Bukhara rugs of the 16th and 17th centuries.
