Sylvia Muhr Sutliff

Sylvia Muhr Sutliff’s parents immigrated to the United States, escaping Hungary’s Stalinist regime and the 1956 revolution. Though her family left their homeland, they brought their culture and traditions with them. Sutliff founded Budapest & Co. to bring ethically made artisanal home goods and fashion accessories produced by women’s cooperatives and other organizations in Hungary and Eastern Europe to the U.S. market.
