Booth 73 The technique of hat weaving by the Wayúu people of northern Colombia has been passed down for generations from elders to children. Traditionally hats were worn by Wayúu men, but increasingly women are wearing them. González founded Centro Tematico Artesanal del Sombrero Wayúu more than 20 years ago with the goal of preserving the culture of his people while also generating income for the community.
